Our Story

Tucked into the heart of Lake Leelanau, Tapas & Tacos Beer Garden started with a simple idea: good food and good company shouldn't be complicated. We wanted a place where you could grab a cold beer, share a few small plates with friends, and let the evening unfold at its own pace.

Our menu is shaped by our chef's own story — born in Nicaragua to a Chinese mother and a Cuban father, he grew up surrounded by three distinct culinary traditions at once. That upbringing shows in every dish: fresh tacos, chef-crafted tapas, and appetizers that blend Latin, Caribbean, and Asian influences into something you won't find anywhere else in Northern Michigan.

Pull up a chair on our colorful, dog-friendly patio under the string lights, or settle in for live music on the right night. However you spend your evening with us, we just want you to feel like you're exactly where you're supposed to be.
